With Ontario Premier Doug Ford announcing that all non-essential businesses must close today (Tuesday, March 24, 2020) at midnight. Understandably, this may be creating some questions in your mind as to which companies will remain open.

Niagara Furniture Bank has been deemed an ESSENTIAL SERVICE, and the Niagara Furniture Bank will remain open and operational. The Niagara Furniture Bank is here to serve several of the most vulnerable sectors throughout the Niagara Region. We will continue our operations, with every and all efforts to protect you our donors, those community members to whom we serve, along with all current staff. “Everyone’s health and well-being remaining our top priority”, said Executive Director, Matt Cuthbert.

With the Spring Cleaning season upon us, and With all items at an all time low, The Niagara Furniture Bank warehouse location will only be accessible to those who wish to drop off any of the much needed items our community members are in high demand of.

A full Canadian Revenue Agency, Fair Market Value Charitable Tax Receipt will be issued for every item on this list. To see the full list of items and their values please click here.

Community Donors are asked to please go to the website, fill in the donation of items form, print this off and give it along with all your much needed items to a staff member will empty your car, van or truck. The public are asked to please remain in your method of transportation.

The Niagara Furniture Bank can pick up your items if they meet the Emergency Efforts Needs, are in a garage or curb side, or “just inside the door” of your house. Any Apartment pick up must have all items waiting in a ground floor, lobby area. Collection fees apply to assist in offsetting this cost of this operation. We insist that any close contact be done using all social distancing measures, as we always maintain a safe two metres apart. If you have travelled outside of Canada or have or are experiencing any flu or cold like symptoms, PLEASE self quarantine, save your items and we will be back when your quarantine and flu like symptoms have run their course.

The Niagara Furniture Bank has re-opened all Digital Portals for the online referrals it receives from the 76 Regional and Provincial agencies. Access has been re-instated to all 243 support agents within these agencies, and we are OPEN for business.

The Niagara Furniture Bank will continue to provide its support services to anyone in need by way of agency referral throughout the entire Niagara Region. Please bare with us as we attempt to take care of the huge back log of calls, messages and emails we have already received.
