How Niagara Furniture Bank helped my mothers memories live on after she passed away.
When my Mother passed away a few months ago , I was heart broken. We had a strong bond together. We were more like best friends rather than a mother and daughter. She was an member of the Niagara Region’s Senior’s community program . When I got married I moved to Thorold with my husband but she stayed at Fort Erie. She loved being a part of the community ever since she was a teenager. She was the one who introduced me to the Fort Erie community living programs. But on every weekend we would both go to volunteer at the Fort Erie community living programs. She was also a part of the Canadian Hearing Society due her hearing difficulties.
When she passed I wanted to do more for her in her name. At first at made monetary donation in her honor. Then I realized I could do more . I had her unwanted furniture that we didn’t need anymore. They were really special to me . but I realized that they could be even more special to someone in need. So I decided to Donate the unwanted furniture to some one need.
” As long as there is love and memory there no true loss “.
I contacted Niagara Furniture Bank for my furniture donation. They were polite about picking-up my mother’s furniture and donating it to others in need. Their services were really amazing. They were really comforting throughout the process. I received a charitable tax receipt for all donated items. I am more than satisfied with their services. From the phone call till the actual pick-up they were very polite and efficient. I would be more than happy recommend Niagara Furniture Bank to someone in need of an estate pick-up.
