How Niagara Furniture Bank helped my father’s memories live on?
When my father passed away, I was really devastated. Me and my father were really close. He lived in the Grafton Gage home in St Catharines for his last few years. Me and him used to visit central church every Sunday. He also was a part of the Royal Canadian Legion in St Catharines, where he would help a lot of people. He loved helping others in need. His loss was something that really shook me. I kept all of his furniture items to myself so that his memories could live with me of the rest of my life. But I was wrong. The more I interacted with his items the more I grieved about his loss. So, after a while I started to feel weighted down by the grief. But from the suggestions and support from my friends and family, I decided to donate it to others in need.
” When we lose someone we love we must learn not to live without them, But to Live with the love they left behind “.
I contacted Niagara Furniture Bank for my furniture donation. They were polite about picking-up my father’s old furniture and donating it to people in need. Their services were great. They followed covid protocols throughout the process. I received a charitable tax receipt for all donated items. I would be more than happy recommend Niagara Furniture Bank to someone in need of furniture pick-up.
