When I came to Niagara Furniture Bank I was in a really struggling point in my life. I was beaten by her significant other. And With the help of my friends I was able to move into the city of St Catharines from Lincoln. When I moved in to St Catherine’s with my two kids I was really struggling at the beginning. I didn’t have access to basic appliances such as toaster , microwave or anything like that . And even for my for mattresses I only had one mattress for me and my kids. So most of the time I had to sleep on the floor allowing the kids to sleep peacefully on the mattress.

Then I used the request furniture service from Niagara Furniture Bank. and they were more than happy to help me out. They contacted me within 2 days of my request and provided me with all the information I needed. They promised me that my furniture will be available in less than a week. And they kept it. My furniture were available within just one week of my request. Niagara Furniture Bank gave me more than what I was expecting. They not only gave me the mattresses and dressers. They also gave me basic kitchen appliances too. I am really thankful towards Niagara Furniture bank and for their services.

Our Offices are Temporary Closed

For immediate Release – June 7, 2022

Dear Community, Staff, Partners, Donors and Friends,

Niagara Furniture Bank has been an integral part of the community since 2008, we have seen our fair share of ups and downs and have always persevered. The goal of this organization has always been to serve those in need as no one ever deserves to sleep on the floor. Due to the Pandemic, unforeseen circumstances and financial hardship the Niagara Furniture Bank has had to make the hard decision to temporarily close as of May 13, 2022. This decision did not come lightly and we weighed all options prior to closure. Efforts are ongoing to explore the feasibility to continue supporting our community.

We ask for patience, understanding and empathy during this time.

Sincerely,
Niagara Furniture Bank
