How Niagara Furniture Bank helped me help others in need.

When me and my husband bought a new house in Niagara Falls. we were really excited. I did live in Niagara Falls for the past 12 years. I am also a volunteer of the Niagara Community Health center in Niagara Falls And i used to volunteer for the YWCA in Niagara Falls too. So I really loved the area and the neighborhood i was in . So when me and my husband decided to buy a new house we preferred around our same neighbor hood. And luckily we got one right around the street. It was a very lovely house so we bought it . And when we moved in we bought a lot of new furniture to fit the overall house design. So we had a lot of furniture that we didn't need any more so we needed a furniture removal service. we didn't feel like throwing to the dump . Because as a nurse I see and lot of people who comes to the hospital who have medical conditions due to lack of facilities like these.

So we decided to donate them. But when we approached the value village near us they weren't really welcoming . They weren't happy that we wanted to donate large items too. They told us they don't take them . And overall we weren't happy about the fact that they were going to sell these items that we were going to donate for free. So we decided to go elsewhere.

" I cannot do all the good that the world needs. But the world needs all the good that I can do "

That is when a friend of mine recommended me about Niagara Furniture Bank and their furniture removal services. I contacted Niagara Furniture Bank for my furniture donation. They were polite about picking-up my  furniture items and donating it to others in need. Their services were really amazing. They were really comforting throughout the process. I received a charitable tax receipt for all donated items. I am more than satisfied with their services. From the phone call till the actual pick-up they were very polite and efficient. I would be more than happy recommend Niagara Furniture Bank to someone in need of an Furniture pick-up.

Our Offices are Temporary Closed

For immediate Release – June 7, 2022

Dear Community, Staff, Partners, Donors and Friends,

Niagara Furniture Bank has been an integral part of the community since 2008, we have seen our fair share of ups and downs and have always persevered. The goal of this organization has always been to serve those in need as no one ever deserves to sleep on the floor. Due to the Pandemic, unforeseen circumstances and financial hardship the Niagara Furniture Bank has had to make the hard decision to temporarily close as of May 13, 2022. This decision did not come lightly and we weighed all options prior to closure. Efforts are ongoing to explore the feasibility to continue supporting our community.

We ask for patience, understanding and empathy during this time.

Sincerely,
Niagara Furniture Bank
